Transport Sub Committee of the Town Deal Board

Our aims in attending were:

1. Find out first hand exactly what is planned for the LTE.

2. Make clear that there are many reasons why the LTE should be shelved & the technical difficulties that have become apparent is not one of them.

3. Ensure the committee understands that there is a difference between journeys along Wharf Road & into Downlong that are necessary & those that are discretionary.

It was suggested that we must not share what was discussed at this meeting. We have asked, given the Town Deal & its sub-committees are a public body, who has decided that & under what legislation. We will share the answer, if any, we receive. As yet, the promised minutes of this meeting and slides displayed have not been shared. (As ever at these events, our email address was not requested.)

Whilst we were able to make our first point above, Town Mayor Johnnie Wells prevented us from speaking further. He has since apologised by email for doing so.
